Over 1,200 Infiltrators caught in Haryana and Rajasthan

Will be deported to Bangladesh

Jaipur (Rajasthan) – Police have launched a major operation against Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators illegally residing in the states of Haryana and Rajasthan. Since a special operation began in Rajasthan on 30 April 2025, over 1,000 infiltrators have been arrested so far. In three districts of Haryana, 237 Bangladeshi nationals have been taken into custody. Many among them had attempted to declare themselves as Indian citizens using fake documents. The infiltrators are now being sent to West Bengal via special flights, from where the Border Security Force (BSF) will deport them back to Bangladesh and Myanmar.

Infiltrators were residing using fake documents

Investigations revealed that these individuals were living in India by forging documents such as Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, and residence certificates, claiming to be domiciled residents of Rajasthan. Many women worked as domestic help, while men were employed in brick kilns, mining, and other labour-intensive sectors. Some of them have even been booked for theft and other criminal offences. As per the directive from the Union Home Ministry, special task forces and temporary detention centres have been set up in each District. The infiltrators are being held at these centres temporarily. On 15th May, the first batch of 148 people was sent to West Bengal by a special flight. More deportations are planned in the coming days.

In Haryana too, these infiltrators were working at various locations. Police are now preparing to take action against employers who hired these illegal labourers without verifying their documents.

Editorial Perspective

Considering the large number of Bangladeshi infiltrators in the country, the public expects the speed of identification and deportation needs to be much faster.
