Karnavati (Ahmedabad) – Gujarat Police in its ‘Operation Deport Bangladeshis’ has repatriated more than 300 Bangladeshi citizens from India. After the Pahalgam terrorist attack the Gujarat Police had conducted a combing mission in the State Identified and arrested the Bangladeshi Nationals. Then after a process of investigation and legal procedure deported them in stages
1. These Bangladeshis were arrested from Karnavati and Surat and many other cities in the state. They were sent to Agartala (Tripura) by a special flight.
2. They were taken there for the next step in the procedure of deportation. On the 27th April after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam the Police began a Statewide operation to identify and arrest illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators.
3. The number of suspected Illegal Bangladeshi Infiltrators arrested from Karnavati was 800 and 134 from Surat.
The Infiltrators were given 10 days to return to Bangladesh
The process of deporting the illegal infiltrators after the arrest is lengthy; but this time the police had decided that the process of sending the arrested illegal infiltrators was to speeded up. They decided that the ‘Operation Deport’ procedure would be completed by the Police in 10 days after the arrest of the suspect.
