13 Bangladeshi infiltrators from Ratnagiri to be sent back to Bangladesh

The sentence to end on May 14th

Ratnagiri – The six-month sentence imposed by the Court on 13 Bangladeshi infiltrators illegally residing at a laterite (Chira) stone mine in Nakhare-Nirul in Ratnagiri District will end on May 14th. They will be sent to Bangladesh the next day, i.e. on May 15th. They will be handed over to the Bangladesh-India Border Security Force (BSF), informed District Superintendent of Police Dhananjay Kulkarni.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad of Ratnagiri Police received information on November 11th, 2024, that Bangladeshi nationals who had illegally entered India were living within the boundaries of Purnagad Police Station. Based on this information, the Police raided the stone mine and arrested 13 Bangladeshi nationals. During the investigation conducted by the Police, they did not find any evidence proving their Indian identity. The Police registered a case against them. Subsequently, the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Ratnagiri Nikhil Gosavi sentenced these 13 people to 6 months imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 500 each. This sentence will end on May 14th.
