Dehradun (Uttarakhand) – Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has renamed 14 places across four districts—Haridwar, Dehradun, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar. The renaming was officially announced on the day of Eid.

CM Dhami stated that the decision was taken in line with public sentiment and to honor India’s cultural heritage and legacy. He added that these name changes would inspire people by commemorating historical figures who contributed to the preservation of Indian culture.

Additionally, ‘Nawabi Road’ in Nainital district has been renamed ‘Atal Marg’, while the Sultanpur Patti Municipal Council in Udham Singh Nagar will now be called ‘Kaushalya Puri’. Similarly, Salempur in Haridwar has been renamed ‘Shursen Nagar’.
