Jaipur (Rajasthan) – Students of the Women’s Polytechnic College in Pratap Nagar have accused former Principal Syed Mashkur Ali of sexual harassment. They stated that he repeatedly pressured them to sleep with him and even claimed that he could “supply” girls. If they refused, he threatened to expel them from the college.
1. Regarding this matter, female students and college staff lodged a complaint with the Secretary of the Technical Education Department on 3rd February. Following this, an inquiry committee was formed. Upon investigation, Mashkur Ali was found guilty and subsequently suspended. However, he claimed to be innocent. Later, on 10th March, the inquiry committee revisited the college for further investigation, which was met with opposition from the students, who alleged that the re-investigation was an attempt to protect Mashkur Ali.
2. The students stated that Syed Mashkur Ali was appointed as the Principal in 2023, and since then, he had been misbehaving with female students.
3. Mashkur Ali had added himself to the students’ private WhatsApp group and used to send them obscene messages. He would also take students in his car under false pretences and misbehave with them while driving.
4. The students further alleged that Mashkur Ali threatened to make their videos viral if they reported him to the Police or their families
5. Due to this fear, no one initially filed a Police complaint. However, students and college staff eventually reported Mashkur Ali to the Women’s Commission, the Chief Minister, and the Rajasthan Sampark Portal.
