Dhaka – The Bangladesh police have requested Interpol to issue a Red Corner Notice against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The request also includes 11 other individuals. Interpol is the world’s largest international police organization, assisting countries in controlling crime and sharing information about criminals who have fled from one country to another. A Red Corner Notice is not an arrest warrant, but a request to locate and identify a person for potential extradition or legal action.

Since the change of power in August last year, Sheikh Hasina has been residing in India. She, along with her associates, has been accused of crimes against humanity
and genocide.
Bangladesh has appealed to India to deport Hasina. However, the Indian government has extended her visa and clarified that she will not be sent back to Bangladesh.
