University issued a show cause notice and banned admission

Karachi (Pakistan) – A case has been registered against Hindu and Muslim students for playing Holi at Dawood College of Engineering and Technology here. On 21st February, some students of both religions celebrated Holi on the campus. Following this, the university administration issued show cause notices to these students and banned them from entering the campus. These students have been asked to come to the campus with their parents on 24th February. The students have been warned of expulsion from the university.
Earlier in March 2023, Hindu students playing Holi were attacked at Punjab University in Lahore. Around 30 students had gathered at PU Law College to play Holi. The students had also taken permission from the college administration for this. After this, people from the radical Islamic student organization Islami Jamiat Talaba attacked Hindu students. After this incident, university spokesperson Khurram Shahzad said that the administration had not allowed students to celebrate Holi on the college premises. They were asked to play Holi inside.
