Police objection to Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s Hindu Rashtra Adhiveshan banners at the Maha Kumbha Mela

Banners returned after Sanatan Prabhat Journalist questioned the Police

Prayagraj -Some seekers of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti were carrying banners for the Hindu Rashtra Adhiveshan organised on 31st January near Sector 19 in the Kumbha Mela. Police officers on patrol stopped them, seized the banners, and took them to the Police station. However, following questioning by a Sanatan Prabhat journalist, the banners were returned.

1. Around 1 to 1:30 a.m., some seekers were transporting the banners on two-wheelers when Police officers on patrol intervened. After inspecting the banners, the Police, upon reading the mention of the “Hindu Rashtra Adhiveshan,” remarked, “Don’t you know this term is banned ?”

2. The seekers then asked, “Is the term “Hindu Rashtra’ banned ? “The Police clarified that while it was not officially banned, some banners related to the Hindu Rashtra had been removed from the Mela area a few days earlier by the administration, so these banners could not be displayed either.

3. The Police later relented, saying, “You can take all the banners except one.”

4. When the seekers requested the remaining banner, the Police directed them to the Police station. However, since the banner was still at the location, the volunteers insisted on retrieving it. A Police officer stated, “You will not be allowed to display these banners.”

Police pleaded after Sanatan Prabhat journalist’s intense questioning

When the Sanatan Prabhat journalist present asked if the Police objected to the words on the banner, the officers replied, “You cannot display these banners.” The journalist then countered, “If that’s the case, we will publish a news report under your name regarding the seizure of these banners. Please provide your name.” This prompted the officer to plead, joining hands, “Please do not publish this news. You may take the banner back.” Consequently, the seekers returned with the banner.

(Why didn’t the Police administration inform the Samiti in advance when Hindu Rashtra banners were removed earlier ? No reason was provided then either. By opposing these banners again, are certain elements within the Police not revealing their anti-Hindu Rashtra mindset ? Editorial Perspective

Police with an anti-Hindu Rashtra mindset are not expected under the administration of staunch Hindutva leader Yogi Adityanath.
