Mumbai – On 29 th January, the Bombay High Court granted bail to six individuals arrested in the murder case of Comrade Govind Pansare. This decision has been wholeheartedly welcomed by all Hindutva organisations. A systematic ‘fake narrative’ was created to establish the theory of ‘Hindu terrorism,’ and Hindutva activists were deliberately implicated in the murders of rationalist leaders.

The Pansare family and other so-called Secularists tried their best to ensure that these Hindutva activists did not get bail. They continuously made misleading statements in the media to pressure the Judiciary and Police. The case was deliberately being delayed. Considering the pressure tactics used by the Pansare family and rationalists in Kolhapur, if this trial continues there, obstacles will be created in the path of justice. Therefore, on behalf of all Hindutva organisations, we request the Judiciary to transfer the Pansare murder case to a neutral location outside Kolhapur. This demand was put forth by Abhay Vartak, Spokesperson of the Sanatan Sanstha.

Abhay Vartak stated, “While the terrorist Ajmal Kasab, who came from Pakistan, was provided with legal aid in the terror case, so called rationalists were attempting to ensure that these poor Hindu youths were denied legal aid, leaving them to languish in prison. Meanwhile, the Pansare family, who had been crying out for justice, went to the Mumbai High Court and filed petitions to stall the case. However, today, after six years, all these Hindutva activists have been granted bail, and for this, we express our gratitude to the God.”
I do not think justice has been served : Adv. Siddh Vidya, Bombay High Court

I am grateful to the Honourable Bombay High Court for granting bail to the accused in the Pansare murder case. However, I do not think justice has been served. If these individuals, who have been in jail for six years, are proven innocent tomorrow, who will return those six years to them ? Whether they are guilty or innocent will be decided later, but what about their right to a speedy trial ? The entire case could have been concluded within a year with a prompt verdict. Instead, efforts were made to prolong the proceedings. A web of false narratives has been spun. While many murders occur in this country, this case was given extraordinary importance. I have never seen a case where the State argued that the murder weapon should be sent to Scotland for forensic examination, only to retract the decision five years later. Despite the accused being in jail for so long, only 25 out of over 250 witnesses have been examined. At this pace, the trial would have dragged on for 18 more years. Some of the accused lost their parents, yet they were not granted bail. So, I do not consider this as justice. Justice was delayed and even denied. I hope that going forward, the trial proceeds swiftly, and an impartial decision is delivered.
