Meta apologises for Mark Zuckerberg’s remarks

Mark Zuckerberg

California (USA) – Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has apologised to India for the incorrect statement made by Facebook’s founder, Mark Zuckerberg. In a statement, Mark Zuckerberg had said that after the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the governments worldwide, including India, faced defeat in the 2024 elections. India strongly objected to this statement.

1. Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, said that Mark Zuckerberg’s remark was ‘factually incorrect’. Vaishnaw posted on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) saying that India, the world’s largest democracy, conducted the 2024 general elections with over 640 million voters, and that the people of India reaffirmed their trust in National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

2. Ashwini Vaishnaw further said that PM Modi’s decisive 3rdterm victory is a testament to good governance and public trust.

3. Tagging Meta, Ashwini Vaishnav said it was disappointing to see Zuckerberg himself spreading misinformation.

Editorial Perspective

Zuckerberg is deliberately spreading false information to discredit the Indian Government and then pretending to apologise through his organisation ! In India, people like Zuckerberg are known for what they are in reality !
