If someone had inscribed sacred symbols such as ‘Om’ or ‘Shri’ on the walls of a mosque or dargah, instead of outrage, there would have been calls for ‘Sarr Tan Se Juda’ (beheading), potentially igniting unrest not just in Bareilly or the rest of Uttar Pradesh but across the country. Do note that such incidents are a result of the extreme tolerance of Hindus.
Bareilly (UP) – A shocking incident has surfaced in which unknown people defaced a historic Deity Durga Temple in the city by inscribing ‘786’ and ‘Allah’ on its walls. The temple, located in the Biharipur area opposite the Ala Hazrat Dargah, is a significant religious site for the local Hindu community. Enraged by the act, local Hindus reported the matter to the Police, who registered a case against unidentified culprits and pacified the anger of Hindus. The Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the temple and surrounding areas to identify the offenders. Authorities have promised to take stringent measures against the offenders.
