Mumbai – Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane while talking to reporters warned, that he would not tolerate Rohingyas and Bangladeshi Muslims residing on the coast. He would not leave them. Maritime security was important. After the attack on Mumbai in 2008, the Government took a lot of precautions. He said they would undertake a ‘sanitizing campaign’ for them. Action would be taken against the Bangladeshis living on the coast, he warned. After being given the Minister for Fisheries and Ports, Nitesh Rane took charge of this department on December 24. He was talking to the media on that occasion.
Nitesh Rane said he reviewed how the Fisheries and the Ports, departments were functioning and how to begin the process. He put forth some suggestions in line with some of his expectations or developments, for what could be done to change that. Some jihadists were still active and working on the coast. He would try to do what he could, to stop them.
