6 NGOs aiding Rohingyas being investigated

Jammu – Currently, 10,000 Rohingya Muslims are living illegally in Jammu and Kashmir. Police are investigating 6 NGOs accused of assisting these infiltrators in settling here. These organisations allegedly helped Rohingyas obtain ration cards, Aadhaar cards, and other official documents. Out of the 10,000, 6,000 are settled in Jammu District, while the rest reside in the Kashmir Valley. Their colonies are located near Jammu Railway Station, Qasim Nagar, Channi Rama, and Narwal.
Interrogation of officers who helped Rohingyas create fake documents
More than 200 Rohingyas have illegally acquired Aadhaar and ration cards. The Jammu Deputy Commissioner has mandated landlords to verify and submit documents of their tenants. Failure to do so will result in legal action against the landlords. Additionally, Government officials suspected of assisting Rohingyas in obtaining official documents are also being investigated, according to an official.
Rohingya girls are marrying locals
These Rohingya intruders arrived in Jammu through Myanmar, via Bangladesh, Bengal, and Assam. Police are also investigating reports of alleged trafficking of Rohingya women. Over 180 Rohingya women have reportedly married local men. Such marriages are believed to be strategically planned to ensure permanent settlement for Rohingya families and to help them evade Police scrutiny.
Editorial PerspectiveWhile no Islamic country is willing to accept Rohingyas, these Muslims are intruding into India and living comfortably. This is shameful for Indian administration and security agencies. |
