Angry villagers call for ‘Puntamba Bandh’

Shirdi – An unknown person has vandalized and desecrated the idol in the Mahadev Temple in Puntamba village here. In the last fortnight, an idol was also desecrated in the Maruti Temple. (If the Police had found the person who desecrated the idol earlier, this incident could have been avoided – Editor). The villagers have united to demand strict action against the accused. The angry villagers staged a roadblock protest for this demand. A call for ‘Puntamba Bandh’ has also been given. The Police are searching for the unknown accused.
Editorial PerspectiveThe increasing instances of desecration of idols, thefts etc. in Hindu temples, is indicative of inefficiency of the Police. |
