The true balance of the environment can be maintained through mantras, Agnihotra, Yadnya and Spiritual Practice : Sean Clark

Research was conducted under the guidance of Sachchidananda Parabrahman, founder of Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay Dr Jayant Athavale

Baku (Azerbaijan) – Ancient Indian scriptures state that the Universe witnesses good and bad times through cycles and mini cycles of Time. The spiritual impurity or Tama has a ubiquitous negative impact on the five Absolute Cosmic Principles of Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether that control the environment and climate on earth. This results in an imbalance of the Cosmic Principles and gives rise to erratic weather patterns and natural disasters. Therefore, mere physical efforts that are currently being made at the global level are not enough. Spiritual efforts are also required. Through chanting mantras, Agnihotra, Yadnya, Spiritual Practice etc., one can achieve spiritual purification of one’s life and environment and thereby maintain the balance of the environment,” asserted Mr Sean Clarke of Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay.

He was speaking at the international conference ‘COP 29’ organized by the ‘United Nations’ in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. On behalf of ‘Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay’ and ‘Spiritual Science Research Foundation’, Mr Clark presented his research on the topic ‘Can social awareness reduce environmental damage?’, and also presented some videos and photographs of the yadnya. This research has been done under the guidance of Sachchidananda Parabrahman Dr Jayant Athavale.

Mr. Sean Clarke further said,

1. It has been proven from many examples that spiritual purity i.e. higher presence of sattva element has an effect on the five elements. In an experiment conducted in a controlled environment, it was observed that chanting of mantras increases the height of the flame.

2. In another example, the aura of water bottles filled with water in two apartments in Mumbai was measured using a device called ‘Universal Aura Scanner’. The aura of the water bottle of the apartment whose residents were performing spiritual practice was found to be positive and the aura of the water bottle of the apartment whose residents were not doing spiritual practice was found to be negative. This shows that human behaviour has an effect on the five elements and the environment.

3. 98% of the environmental changes currently taking place on Earth are due to cyclical changes, while only 2% are due to humans. The environment is being degraded much faster and more intensely than the models and predictions made about environmental changes at the Paris conference. In the year 2006 itself, the ‘Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay’, which conducts spiritual research on this subject, had concluded that ‘the reason for this severe degradation of the environment is not only in the gross but also in the subtle, that is, spiritual dimentios’.

Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay’s efforts to mitigate climate change are commendable

At the COP 29 conference, Mr Santosh Gupta, CEO of ISRN, and Mr Ashwani Khurana, environmentalist and CEO of Karma Lakeland expresses, “Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay’s efforts to mitigate climate change with the help of spiritual principles based on ancient Indian scriptures are commendable.”

In the last 8 years, ‘Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay’ has presented research papers in 20 national and 96 international science conferences. Out of these, the university has received ‘Excellent Presentation’ awards in 14 international science conferences.
