To raise the issue of atrocities against Hindus
New Delhi – India’s foreign secretary, Vikram Misri, will visit Bangladesh on 9th December 2024 amid the attacks on Hindus and unrest in that country. On 5th August 2024, after toppling Sheikh Hasina’s Government, it will be the first time that any senior Indian diplomat will visit Bangladesh. Mr Randhir Jaiswal, a spokesperson of Foreign Ministry said, “There will be discussions on recent happenings in Bangladesh between the two parties.” Regarding the arrest of Chinmoy Prabhu, the spokesperson of ‘Sanatani Jagaran Jyot’, a pro-Hindu organisation in Bangladesh, Jaiswal said, “We hope that Bangladesh will protect his legal rights.” Prabhu was not represented by any advocate during the hearing of his case for his release on bail held on 3rd December 2024 in High Court.
No Air India flight to DhakaAloke Singh, the Managing Director of Air India informed the media that owing to violence in Bangladesh, no direct flight will be operated from Kolkata to Dhaka. |
