World Wildlife Organization’s Report

Gland (Switzerland) – Indian cuisine is globally recognized as a complete diet. In a recent report titled “Living Planet, 2024,” issued by the Switzerland-based international NGO World Wildlife Fund (WWF), it has been stated that India’s food system is the best for the planet and the environment compared to other countries. The report praises India’s sustainable food practices and notes that India sets a global example with its eco-friendly food consumption model.
1. The report claims that if all countries adopt India’s food system, the loss of food on Earth will be significantly reduced by 2050.
2. Following India, countries like Indonesia, China, Japan, and Saudi Arabia have been recognized for having the next best food systems. However, the food practices in Argentina, Australia, and the United States have been ranked the worst.
3. If global nations adopt India’s food system or dietary practices, 84% of the world’s natural resources will suffice for human needs by 2050. This means 16% of natural resources won’t be depleted, which will aid in reducing global warming and maintaining environmental balance.
Editorial PerspectiveThe Indian, or more specifically, the Hindu food system, along with its culture, philosophy, and religion, is harmonious with nature and exemplary. When the world embraces this, all of its pressing issues will be resolved. |
