In a letter to the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Sircar raised concerns about the corruption and hooliganism of some members within the party. He mentioned in the letter that after deep contemplation, he has decided to quit his MP post and completely withdraw from politics. Along with this, Sircar raised questions about the corruption in the State and officials acquiring illegal wealth.

Silence of Mamata Banerjee in the corruption case involving the Education Minister

Jawhar Sircar further stated in the letter that in 2022, when evidence of corruption by the Education Minister emerged, Mamata Banerjee should have taken action. Despite this, some senior leaders within the party opposed him. Sircar expected Mamata Banerjee to continue her fight against corruption, which is why he did not resign at that time.

  • A hard slap to Mamata Banerjee ! Will she now take responsibility for this failure and resign ?
