Violence again erupts in Manipur : 6 dead

Imphal, Manipur – The violence in Manipur, which has been simmering for more than half a year, has not stopped yet. On 7th September, 6 people died in the violence in Jiribam district, bordering Assam. The Jiribam attack was said to be in response to the September 6 rocket and drone attacks at Bishnupur in the Imphal Valley in Manipur. Violence has increased in the state of Manipur in the last 7 days. In this, 8 people have died and more than 15 people have been injured.

A priest was killed in the attack at Bishnupur. After that a village in Jiribam was attacked. After that 2 groups came face to face. After this incident, Chief Minister Biren Singh called an urgent meeting of the cabinet and gave detailed information to the Governor about the situation in the state.
