A school examination in Bharuch (Gujarat) included questions related to Islam !

Hindu parents object

Bharuch (Gujarat) – An incident has emerged at Bharuch (Gujarat) where students of Class VIII at GNFC Narmada Vidyalaya were given a test on August 7th that included questions about Islam. The controversial question paper has since been shared on social media, leading to opposition from Hindu parents. In response, some individuals have questioned, “Is this school in India or Pakistan ?”

The test included a fill-in-the-blank question where students needed to complete the phrase ‘If God wills, everyone can (…) flee’ with options such as ‘kismat’ (by fate), ‘mannat’ (by desire), ‘dawat’ (for feasting), or ‘afat’ (dut to distress).

Another question on the test asked, “What is the name of the place for Eid prayer?” The answer choices provided were ‘Idbagh,’ ‘Idmedan,’ ‘Idghar,’ and ‘Idgah.’ After students brought the question paper home, their parents posted pictures of it on social media and voiced their objections to including such questions in the exam.

Questions were taken only from government textbooks – Claim of school management

The school management has stated that the questions were based on the government-prescribed textbook and that no questions outside the curriculum were included. They have clarified that there was no ulterior motive behind these questions from the school or the teacher. A formal response has also been submitted to the District Education Officer and the Collector’s office to address the concerns raised.

Editorial Perspective

Hindus think that such actions should not have occurred considering such long period of BJP governance in Gujarat.
