Dhaka (Bangladesh) – “Relations between Bangladesh and India will be strengthened. However, there are some issues between the two countries that need to be resolved. These include water sharing, the killing of Bangladeshi people by the Border Security Force (BSF) at the border, and addressing the trade imbalances,” said Mirza Islam Alamgir, senior leader and General Secretary of the opposition party BNP. He notably avoided mentioning the atrocities against the minority Hindu community in Bangladesh.

Mirza Islam Alamgir added,
1. There was a revolt by the students and citizens. Almost 1,000 students were killed by Sheikh Hasina’s Police and almost 12,000 people were arrested.
2. Nobel Prize winner Professor Yunus is leading the interim Government. It will certainly stabilise the situation and bring peace and order.
3. Our party will strive to eradicate corruption. We will uphold Democracy and democratic values.
