Administration halts construction of illegal mosque near Balaji Temple following Hindu protests

An incident at Chilkur in Telangana

Hindus agitating against mosque construction

Chilkur (Telangana) – The land near the Chilkur Balaji Temple was declared as Waqf Board land, and a mosque was being built there. Bajrang Dal activists protested this and warned the Congress government, stating, “Any kind of tampering with the sanctity of the temple will not be tolerated. This will have serious consequences.” They also demanded the demolition of the mosque under construction. The District authorities took immediate notice of the matter and stopped the construction of the mosque.

1. Pujari of Chilkur Balaji Devasthanam, C.S. Rangarajan, emphasized that the land around the Chilkur Balaji Temple is sacred and has existed for a long time. “Just as the land surrounding the Tirupati Balaji Temple is revered, the surroundings of the Chilkur Balaji Temple are equally sacred. Shri Venkateswara is the owner of this land as He has manifested Himself at Chilkur. It is not a place of worship for other religions. The police, revenue, and other departments are responsible for maintaining the sanctity of the temple.” Rangarajan further noted, “A new masjid is being constructed within 2 km of the temple. They too are our brothers and we love and respect them; but the government and the builders of the mosque have requested that the sanctity and ownership of the land should be maintained. We appeal to the administration and the District Magistrate office. The government should ensure that no new place of worship of any other religion is built here.”

2. Bajrang Dal state convenor Sivaramulu demanded the immediate suspension of local tehsildars who reported that private land is Waqf land. He alleged that after listening to the Muslim MLAs in this matter, the work of digging a borewell is ongoing at that place. According to him, the police were present at the spot all this time, terrorizing the local people while the construction was happening.

Editorial Perspective

This kind of audacity by the fanatic Muslims is due to the Congress Government in Telangana.
