Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) – Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mandir has seen an increase in the number of visitors from abroad alongside Indian visitors. According to data released by Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mandir Nyasa, the highest number of foreign devotees from the year 2019 to March 31st, 2024, came from the USA, which ranks first. Italy ranks second, Russia third, Malaysia fourth, and Spain fifth. This influx highlights the mandir’s growing international appeal, with 10.20% of all foreign visitors being from these countries during this period.

Following the USA, Italy ranks second with 9.78%, Russia third with 9.62%, Malaysia fourth with 7.64%, and Spain fifth with 7.18%. Additionally, France accounted for 6.86%, the Netherlands 5.07%, Japan 4.17%, and the United Kingdom 4.02%. Devotees from a total of 139 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Bangladesh, and Belgium, have visited Shri Kashi Vishwanath.
In March 2024, the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mandir saw the highest number of devotees from Russia, making up 9.75% of the total. American devotees were the second largest group at 9.11%, followed by Italian devotees at 9.33%. Malaysian devotees comprised 7.69%, French devotees 6.56%, and British devotees 5.16%. Additionally, devotees from the Netherlands accounted for 5.04%, those from Spain 4.29%, and those from Japan 4.19%.
In 2023, 10.82% of the devotees at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mandir were from the USA, making it the highest percentage of foreign visitors. Italy followed in second place with 10.54%, Russia was third with 8.63%, Spain fourth with 8.15%, and France fifth with 6.76%.
