40-hour-long encounter in J&K’s Kulgam District concludes : 3 terrorists killed

Srinagar – A Joint Operation, that commenced on the night of 6thMay in Redwani area of Kulgam District, has been concluded after a relentless vigil of approximately 40 hours successfully neutralising TRF chief commander Basit Ahmed Dar and his associate Faheem Ahmed Baba, affiliates of Lashkar-e-Taiba. 3 terrorists have been eliminated along with recovery of war-like stores, inflicting yet another hit on the terror ecosystem.

1. The security forces had surrounded the entire area after receiving information that Basit Ahmed Dar, Faheem Ahmed Baba and Momin were hiding in the area.

2. The encounter had ended after killing both terrorists, Ahmed Dar and his associate Faheem Ahmed Baba; but while searching the houses there, a hidden terrorist opened fire on the soldiers. After that the skirmish resumed.

3. Basik Dar, who was killed, was involved in the killing of Policemen and innocent civilians. He had hatched a conspiracy to attack the minorities in Kashmir. He was a wanted terrorist by the security forces. Therefore, his elimination is a great success of the security forces, said the Kashmir Director General of Police V K Biradhi.
