Three Indians arrested in the murder case of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar

Police had alleged India’s involvement in the killing

Ottawa (Canada) – Canadian Police arrested 3 Indians from Edmonton in connection with the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Identified are Karan Brar, Karanpreet Singh and Kamalpreet Singh, all aged between 20 and 30. The Police said that the rest of the accused will also be arrested soon.

1. According to the Police, they were under surveillance for several months. The Police alleged that India had entrusted them with the responsibility of killing Nijjar.

2. The arrested suspects are purportedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in India. In 2021, all three of them entered Canada on temporary visas.

3. Canadian Police alleged that all three accused played distinct roles in Nijjar’s murder. One of them was tasked with finding Nijjar’s location, another served as the driver, and the third reportedly fired the fatal shot.

4. Following the arrest of the suspects, Canada’s Public Safety Minister Dominic Leblanc expressed, “I have full confidence in the security apparatus of Government of Canada and work of the RCMP, and the work that the Security Intelligence Service does. The Police have taken Nijjar murder case very seriously. Whether the murder is related to India or not, the Police will be able to give an answer.”

5. Nijjar was gunned down on the evening of 18th June, 2023 while leaving the Gurdwara in Surrey. Then on 18th September, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused the Indian Government of involvement in Nijjar’s killing, which India denied. Canada had said that it would provide evidence of India’s involvement in the murder but it has not been given yet.
