Prime Minister Trudeau’s promised to protect the rights of Sikhs

Toronto (Canada) – Some Sikh community individuals raised slogans in support of Khalistan at an event organized on the occasion of ‘Khalsa Day’ in Toronto. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended the event. Addressing the Sikh community on this occasion, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau assured to protect the rights of Sikhs. He said that the country’s diversity is its greatest strength.

Trudeau added, “There are 8 lakh Sikhs in Canada. I am always ready to protect their rights. I will always protect the Sikh community from hatred and discrimination. People of the Sikh community should practice their religion without fear. Canada guarantees fundamental rights and freedoms, and I stand with the Sikhs on this.”

Prime Minister Trudeau said Sikhs want to see their families and relatives. I will make a new agreement with the Government of India. According to this agreement, flights can be started to other cities including Amritsar.
Relations between India and Canada have deteriorated
On 18th June 2023, Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was killed in British Columbia. Prime Minister Trudeau then accused the Indian government of involvement, But India rejected this allegation. Since then, relations between the two countries deteriorated.
