Sanaa (Yemen) – Yemen Houthis claimed to have shot down a powerful US military MQ-9 Reaper Drone. They have also aired a footage of the drone being tracked down and destroyed by a missile fired from the surface. Houthis have started invading once again in the war between Israel and Hamas. On 27th April, Houthi militants targeted a boat carrying a British oil tanker in the Red Sea. According to an Arabian news channel, the US Air Force has confirmed the report that the Houthis have carried out such activities.

This is a matter of concern for India because India is planning to buy the same category of missiles. India has made a USD 3.99 billion (Rs 33,277 crore) deal with the US in February. According to the deal, India will buy 31 MQ-9B drones. The Indian Navy will use them for unmanned surveillance at the sea.
