After India, Chinese standard map is being opposed by Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan and Nepal

Case of China depicting Arunachal Pradesh, South China Sea etc on its standard map

Kathmandu (Nepal) – Arunachal Pradesh, Aksai Chin, South China Sea, etc. are depicted by China on their standard map, it appears as its own territories. While condemning, India’s Foreign Minister Dr S Jaishankar said, “It’s an old habit of theirs.” These (territories) are very much part of India. This Government is very clear what our territories are. Making absurd claims doesn’t make others territories yours.”

Four countries, namely Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, and Nepal, have also strongly opposed China’s new standard map. On its new map, China depicts the entire South China Sea as its territory. This map is rejected by Malaysia. China’s new map has also been criticised by the Philippines and Taiwan. The Mayor of Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, has cancelled his visit to China due to this act of China.
