Sulya (Karnataka) – A Muslim youth’s plan to abduct a Hindu girl through love jihad in Kollamogru village here was thwarted by the vigilance of a bus conductor.
1. After completing her college education in Savanur, 18-year-old Diksha informed her parents that she was going abroad for further studies. Since her parents were illiterate, they believed her.
2. She told her parents that 2 of her friends from Bengaluru were coming to see her off at Kempegowda Airport in Bengaluru. After meeting her friends at the airport, Diksha entered the terminal. Interestingly, Diksha had even borrowed money from her friends, claiming that her parents were dead.
3. Shortly after entering the airport, Diksha exited and boarded a bus again, this time accompanied by a Muslim youth. The bus conductor grew suspicious of the situation. He discreetly took a photo of Diksha and sent it to activists from Hindutva organisations. When the photo was circulated in a WhatsApp group, the activists recognised Diksha and informed her parents. The parents immediately reported the situation to the Police.
4. Sub-Inspector Karthik suggested that Diksha’s parents file a complaint at the Bengaluru Police station, 550 km from Sulya, and assured them that he would personally file the complaint if it was not accepted there. Diksha’s parents travelled to Bengaluru and filed a complaint at Upparpet Police Station. The Police acted swiftly, located Diksha, and safely handed her over to her parents.
