Passengers looted by private bus companies in Parel and Dadar during Ganesh festival

Mumbai – It has been revealed that private bus companies are charging passengers exorbitant fares to travel to their natives for the Ganesh festival. A news channel correspondent visited private bus ticket agency in Parel and Dadar and enquired about this, through which, the looting incidents were revealed.

The booking agents quoted different fares for each place. The fare is Rs 1,200 for Mumbai-Rajapur and Rs 1,300 for Chiplun. Air-conditioned buses are priced at Rs 2,100, while non-air-conditioned buses are priced at Rs 1,800. These fares are in the range of Rs 700 to 800 during other times. The passengers are being charged double the regular fare. When asked about this to a ticket booking agent, he said, “We only get these 2-3 days of Ganesh festival when we can earn money.”
