30 officials sentenced to death for failure to deal with floods in North Korea

Pyongyang (North Korea) – Dictator Kim Jong Un has sentenced 30 North Korean officials to death for failing to deal with floods in North Korea. Their names are yet unknown. The officials who were sentenced to death were found guilty of corruption and carelessness in performing duty. They are held liable for the damage and death caused by the disaster. Heavy rains caused landslides and floods in North Korea in July. During this period, about 1,000 people died, while 4,000 houses were destroyed.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, 10 people were executed in a year in North Korea. Now about 100 people are executed every year. In July, the Government publicly shot 30 minor students. These students were accused of watching serials made in enemy country South Korea.
