Male (Maldives) – President Mohammad Muizzu’s party has won the Parliamentary Elections held in Maldives. Results are out for 86 out of 93 seats, of which Muizzu’s ‘People’s National Congress’ party has won 66 seats.

India and China were watching these elections. Muizzu is pro-China and anti-India. Therefore, the victory of his party is considered a setback for India. With this victory, Muizzu’s Government will remain in power for the next 5 years.
