Sangamner (Ahilyanagar District) – On March 9th , thieves targeted the renowned Mahalaxmi Temple in Kakadwadi near Nannaj Dumala village, located in the Talegaon Dighe area of the taluka. They stole 50 tolas of gold and 2.5 kg of silver ornaments, amounting to a total value of ₹50 lakh. In an attempt to erase evidence, the thieves also stole the DVR (Digital Video Recorder) of the CCTV system, which stores recorded footage.
The police swiftly inspected the scene and have employed fingerprint experts and a dog squad to track down the culprits. A case has been registered with the taluka police. Former Sarpanch of Kakadwadi, Janardan Kasar, along with the local villagers, has demanded a thorough and speedy investigation to apprehend the thieves and recover the stolen ornaments.
