Police stop Muslims from blocking the road to break ‘Roza’ outside State Administrative Building

  • News in ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ instrumental in putting a check on Muslim insolence

  • Order to take immediate action by Municipal Commissioner

(Roza means the fast observed in the month of Ramzan)

Mumbai, 12th March – News published in daily newspaper ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ has put a check on Muslims closing the road outside the State Administrative Building for breaking their fast when the budgetary session is going on. The news about blockage of roads outside an important location like the State Administrative Building despite deployment of Police force for security of the building, was published by ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat (DSP)’. The representative of DSP, on verifying with the Police Inspector (PI) on duty, informed the office of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner about the serious matter. Considering the seriousness of the issue, Bhushan Gagrani, BMC Commissioner ordered immediate action and from 12.03.2025, the practice of breaking of fast on the road by Muslims has been stopped.

Police admonish Muslim vendors

A Muslim vendor Alam Khan was gathering all Muslim vendors for breaking their fast on the road. Alam Khan has been admonished by the Police as per the information given to the representative of DSP over phone.

A representative of DSP observed that the road outside the State Administrative Building was blocked for breaking fast by Muslims on 10.03.2025. On detailed inquiry, it was found that the Muslim vendors were daily breaking their fast by blocking the road.

On 11.03.2025, it was observed that Muslims were spreading mats on the road for breaking their ‘roza’ in the evening but the Police on duty were not stopping them from doing so.

The matter was brought to the notice of a Police Inspector (PI) on duty by a DSP representative. He made PI aware that Police on duty would be responsible for any untoward incident, if happened during an important event like the State Legislative Assembly’s budgetary session. The matter was then brought to the notice of BMC officers and their seniors.

No religiousness but it is insolence !

Muslims could have broken their fast with fruits in some place in a corner, away from the main road of regular use, or in a place owned by a Muslim. Instead of doing that, they were blocking the main road used by pedestrians outside the important site like the State Administrative Building, by tying a rope to prevent people from using the road. Such action is Muslims’ insolence.

Blocking the road outside the Administrative Building during the budgetary session is a serious matter. Police taking the stand of onlookers when a road is blocked at a very important location like an administrative building is also a serious matter. Road blockage is causing inconvenience to women, senior citizens and people using that road. It can create a law-and-order problem. The Government needs to take precaution.
