Mob attack on BJP candidate Locket Chatterjee in Bengal

Kolkata – BJP’s Hooghly Lok Sabha seat candidate Locket Chatterjee on 6th April accused Trinamool Congress supporters of accosting her vehicle. The incident took place at Bansberia in Hooghly district, where she went to attend a religious ceremony to the Kalitala Mandir. Locket Chatterjee was not injured in the attack. A video of the attack has gone viral on social media.

According to Locket Chatterjee, neither the local people nor the Police know where the mob came from. Leaders of the ruling Trinamool Congress were present at the scene of the incident. A person in the crowd hit the vehicle twice and tried to enter the vehicle. The crowd had turned violent. When the Police reached the spot, they failed to identify the people involved in the mob. Trinamool Congress leader Shilpi Chatterjee and Trinamool Congress corporator Ranjit were standing with this crowd. Complaining to the Election Commission, Locket Chatterjee has demanded that Shilpi and other accused be sent to jail.

The motive behind this attack is to scare the voters. This attack was carried out to prevent the voters from voting. This intention of the opponents will not succeed. BJP has alleged that Mamata Banerjee’s Bengal Police is silent in this matter.
