Minor girl lured from Nepal and assaulted in Mumbra (Mumbai); accused arrested

The accused lured her using mobile communication

Mumbai – A 15-year-old girl from Nepal was enticed by a 22-year-old man from Mumbai through Instagram. He rented a room in Mumbra where he raped her and then left her at Diva station. The girl, visibly distressed, was noticed by passengers on a Dadar local train, who then informed the Dadar Police. The Police took her into custody and admitted her to a hospital for treatment.

The accused had promised to marry her and threatened to harm himself if she did not come to Mumbai. Believing his words, the minor girl left Nepal without informing her parents and arrived near Mumbai in Kalyan via Gorakhpur on 19th March. The accused then took her to Mumbra.

Mumbra

The accused resides in Wadala and had taken her mobile phone. He deleted all their conversations and his Instagram account. The Police were able to arrest him within a few hours using the mobile phone number he had given the girl. The further investigation is going on by the Mumbra Police.

Beware the consequences of mobile phone uses ! Girls are willing to leave their country and travel long distances, falling prey to misuse of mobile technology, which is extremely dangerous.
