Police withdraw notice issued to Kalaram Mandir as Ramesh Shinde of HJS points out discrimination by the Police

Issue of notice to Kalaram Mandir, Nashik about loudspeakers

Shri. Ramesh Shinde

Nashik – Mr Ramesh Shinde, National Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) exposed the discriminatory action by the Police in one case after which notice issued to Shri Kalaram Mandir about loudspeakers was withdrawn. On 12th March 2024, Mr Ramesh Shinde raised a point on ‘X’ through his post, questioning the Police if they would show courage and issue notices to mosques which have been violating the law related to noise pollution between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. After his post, the Police called up office bearers of HJS to inform them about the withdrawal of notice issued to Shri Kalaram Mandir since the complainant withdrew his complaint.

A resident of the Panchvati area filed a written complaint with the Panchvati Police Station on 7th March 2024 against the use of loudspeakers by Shri Kalaram Mandir from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. It was stated in the complaint that the noise was causing disturbance to the citizens, disturbing their sleep and students from 10th and 12th standard in their studies who were appearing for the examinations. The Police, therefore, issued a notice, asking the temple to stop the use of loudspeakers.

Editorial Perspective

Prompt action against temples but no action against mosques despite several complaints. Is it not discriminatory of the Police ?
