BJP MLA breaks open the lock of Shiva Mandir in Jaipur, closed for 31 years

Muslims raised slogans of Allah-u-Akbar (Allah is great) while puja was being performed in the temple

Jaipur (Rajasthan) – BJP MLA Balmukund Acharya from Hawa Mahal Constituency opened Shiva Mandir on the day of Mahashivaratri, in Adarsh Nagar area that was lying closed for 31 years. He also performed puja in the temple. This area has a majority Muslim population and Rafeek Khan of Congress is the MLA elected from Adarsh Nagar constituency. MLA Balmukund Acharya criticised MLA Khan for keeping the temple closed. A big mob of Muslims gathered outside the temple when MLA Balmukund was performing puja and raised slogans of Allah-O-Akbar.

MLA Acharya Balmukund reached the temple but found it locked. He could not find the keys; therefore, he broke it open. The temple was in a very bad condition. He and his followers first cleaned the temple before performing puja. Acharya Balmukund said that earlier, the Hindu population was more around the temple area, but Hindus left the place for various reasons.

Local Muslims claimed that MLA Balmukund tried to cause a disturbance on the day of Mahashivaratri though it was a Friday. (It is an example of a pot calling a kettle black. – Editor)

Why a temple is required to be closed down when it is in a Muslim-dominant area ? Is there any incident of any mosque or church being closed because it was in a Hindu-dominant area ? Should only Hindus treat all religions equally and respect other religions ?
