Two Muslim teachers suspended for forcing Hindu students to offer namaz in Kota, Rajasthan

Both teachers are associated with a banned organisation

Jaipur (Rajasthan) – Firoz Khan and Mirza Mujahid, both teachers at a Government school, have been suspended by the State Education Minister, Madan Dilawar, for forcing Hindu students to offer namaz. The teachers are also accused of having affiliations with a banned organisation. This incident occurred in Khajuri Odpur village, located in the Kota District. Residents reported the incident to the Education Minister by submitting a memorandum. Additionally, teacher Shabana is implicated in this case, and appropriate action will be taken against her. These students were reportedly threatened that if they refused to offer namaz, their future would be destroyed by the teachers.

We will not allow schools in Rajasthan to become conversion centres – Education Minister

Education Minister Madan Dilawar stated, ”There were complaints of conversion in schools, changing the religion of female students, forcing female students to offer namaz. Two teachers have been suspended in this matter. Action is also being taken against the third teacher. All three have been summoned to appear at the Bikaner headquarters. Temples of education are meant to foster the future of our children, not serve as laboratories for religious conversion. We will not allow schools in Rajasthan to become conversion centres. Teachers will undergo thorough investigations, and if found guilty, we will not hesitate to terminate their employment.”

Those who keep schools closed in the name of puja or namaz will be terminated

During a programme, Madan Dilawar remarked, “I have witnessed instances where teachers close schools for 2 to 4 hours in the guise of conducting puja or namaz, resulting in a significant loss of educational time for our children. Teachers who are absent from school under the pretext of puja or namaz should utilise their leave entitlement. Continuous absences will lead to suspension, and if there is no improvement, the Government reserves the right to take further action, including permanent dismissal. Many teachers have neglected their teaching duties for years. We will diligently recover their full wages with interest, compensating for the educational losses incurred by the students. This will mark a precedent in Rajasthan.”

Furthermore, if the Village Development Officer is found culpable in any irregularities related to Panchayat construction projects, appropriate action will be taken against the Block Development Officer (BDO) as well. While many officers discharge their duties with integrity, some engage in dishonest practices. Corruption permeates from lower to higher levels, leading to a decline in the quality of work. Action will be initiated against individuals involved in such misconduct.
