Clashes erupt between VHP members and event organisers

Bharatpur (Rajasthan) – Upon receiving information about the conversion of 500 Hindus at a hotel, activists of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) reached the hotel and thwarted the conversion attempt. During this event, clashes erupted between VHP activists and the organisers of the conversion programme. The individuals who were to perform the conversions, started fleeing into the hotel. The activists managed to capture 10 of them, which led to a physical altercation between the organisers and the VHP activists. After the Police were informed about the incident, they arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. Several people, including women, were arrested by the Police.
