Amethi (Uttar Pradesh) – A case of cheating by a Muslim has come to light. A few days ago, a family in Kharauli village found out that their missing son Arun had become a Sadhu. Some news was also published regarding this. It turns out that this boy is not ‘Arun’ but ‘Nafees’ and has pretended to be ‘Arun’ to extort lakhs of rupees from the family. This has come to light through a search by the daily ‘Jagran’ and a local YouTube channel.
1. A man’s son named Arun was lost as a child in Kharauli village. Seeing that his son was now wandering around as a Sadhu, he asked him to come home. The family was trying to make the boy leave the life of a Sadhu and live a family life again. The Sadhu refused to do so; but later he telephoned and said that, if the family wanted to get him back, they would have to pay Rs 10 lakh to his hermitage.
2. The family wanted their son back; so they sold their land and set out to get the son back. The entire transaction was done for Rs 3.6 lakh, but the boy for whom the family sold everything turned out to be not theirs but the thug Nafees, who is from Tikaria village in Gonda.
3. Some people in the village where Nafees belongs have even gone to jail on charges of fraud. Nafees’ brother Rashid had reached Sahaspura Parsodha village of Mirzapur as a Yogi on 29th July 2021. Budhiram Vishwakarma’s son Ravi also went missing there 14 years ago. That family too had given Rashid a place in the house considering him as his son Ravi. Later the same Rashid absconded with lakhs of rupees.
4. This time Nafis followed the same method of deception. Disguised as a Sadhu, he reached Kharauli village in Amethi and targeted a family whose son was missing. He used their emotions to fool them. On reaching Kharauli on 27th January, he said that he studied at Parasnath Muth in Jharkhand.
