Deharadun, Uttarakhand – The expert committee set up by the Uttarakhand Government for the Uniform Civil
Code submitted the final draft of the law to the Government. After the approval of the Cabinet, it will be tabled in the Legislative Assembly. For this purpose, from 5th February, the special session of the house has been called. This has angered fanatical Muslims. Qazi Mohammad Ahmad Qasmi of Dehradun city said, ‘The Government can take whatever decision it wants. The reins of the state are in his (BJP’s) hands; but after the implementation of this law, the Government will be responsible for the damage caused to the State, “he threatened. In the background of this law, Congress has also criticised the BJP Government.

Congress’ persecution of Muslims

Congress criticised the BJP Government and said, ‘ This decision taken by the Government will not benefit Uttarakhand. Congress leader Suryakant Dhasmana has said that BJP is doing these things to gain benefits for the
party in the Lok Sabha elections. (Even though Hindus have shown door to the Congress, it has not learnt a lesson yet. – Editor) They should tell us, ‘whose opinion did the Government take to implement this law’, he said.

Editorial Perspective

Qazi’s statement proves that if Uniform Civil Code is implemented in Uttarakhand in future, fanatical riots will disrupt law and order. Keeping this in mind, the Government is expected to take action against such anti-social Qazi.
