BJP-led Union Govt launches skill training initiative for minority youth in secular India

New Delhi – Under the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs’ Pradhan Mantri Vikas Yojana, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched a skill development initiative. Under this programme, young men and women from minority communities will receive free telecommunications skills training.

The training will be conducted in batches of 30 participants. It will include classroom sessions as well as experiential learning. The programme comprises more than 600 hours of training, including three months of classroom training and one month of on-the-job practical experience.

Young people aged 18 to 45 from the Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain and Parsi communities are eligible for the scheme. Those who have passed Class 12, as well as graduates, postgraduates, engineering students, diploma students and polytechnic students, may apply.

The training will cover the Broadband Network Technician and Wireless Network Technician courses. Eligible trainees will receive a stipend of ₹2,000 per month. Hostel accommodation and meals will be available on a paid basis. Upon successful completion of the training, trainees will receive a certificate from the Telecom Sector Skill Council.
