Jaipur (Rajasthan) – A woman allegedly had her mother murdered by hiring contract killers so that she could obtain the Government job her mother had received under the compassionate appointment scheme and also secure a share in the family property. The incident took place in Pratap Nagar.
Mrs Neeraj Sharma (45), who worked as a court clerk, was killed after being run over by a four-wheeler. After examining CCTV footage from the area, the police suspected that it was not an accident but a pre-planned murder. The investigation revealed the involvement of family members and contract killers in the conspiracy. Police have arrested seven persons, including Neeraj’s daughter Ayushi Sharma, while one accused is still absconding.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ranjita Sharma said that Neeraj’s husband had died about a year ago. Following his death, Neeraj received a compassionate appointment as a junior clerk in the court. Ayushi wanted that Government job for herself; however, Neeraj accepted the appointment. Apart from this, the mother and daughter had also been involved in a property dispute for the past two to three years.
To obtain the Government job and acquire the property, Ayushi, along with her uncle Mohan Swaroop and cousin Balram alias Ravi, conspired to eliminate her mother. They paid ₹7 lakh to Hemant Sharma of Bharatpur to carry out the murder.
