Two extremists sentenced to four years of imprisonment in Delhi riots case

New Delhi – A Delhi Court on 31st January 2024, convicted Noor Mohammad alias Noora and Nabi Mohammad for the 2020 anti-Hindu riots and sentenced them to four years in prison.

The Court, while pronouncing the sentence, said that the accused were motivated by hatred and greed. Noor Mohammad and Nabi Mohammad were charged with participating in the vandalism and arson of various shops. They had also robbed some people and violated Section 144 of CrPc (prohibition of assembly of four or more people in an area).

The Court has stated that Noor Mohammad instigated a riot, vandalised the shop of a person named Dilip, and set it on fire. He also stole mobile phones from the shop and inflicted damage upon its merchandise. He also vandalised and burned down another shop called ‘Ashok Foam and Furniture’. Additionally, he set fire to the motorcycles belonging to Ramdutt Pandey, Manoj Negi, Sonu Sharma, Pappu, and Ashok Kumar.

Editorial Perspective

The conspiracy by anti-Hindu elements to hold Hindus responsible for the Delhi riots has been foiled by the Court’s verdict. It has revealed who caused the riots. However, the secularists are silent about this.
