Tehran (Iran) – The Indian Embassy in Iran, through a social media post on 20 July, appealed to Indian nationals residing in the country to return to India at the earliest.

It also urged Indian nationals planning to visit Iran for any reason to postpone their travel until the security situation in the country improves. This has led to speculation that West Asia could once again witness a fresh outbreak of conflict.

The Embassy further stated, “Indian nationals should closely monitor news updates to remain informed about the prevailing situation and avoid travelling to areas with heightened military activity, such as the country’s southern coast. Indian citizens in Iran who have not yet registered their details with the Embassy should do so immediately. They should also regularly follow the Embassy’s website and social media channels for further updates and strictly comply with the instructions issued by the local authorities.”
Following the advisory, an atmosphere of fear has reportedly spread among Indian nationals in Iran, and many are said to have begun returning to India.
It has been reported that the advisory was issued against the backdrop of renewed hostilities between the United States and Iran and reports of US attacks on several locations in Iran. Earlier, on 8 April, the Embassy had also issued guidelines for Indian nationals in Iran.
