Incident from Tarn Taran (Punjab)

Tarn Taran (Punjab) – Baba Deep Singh’s birth anniversary was celebrated on 28 th January at the Deep Singh Janam Asthan Gurdwara in Pahuvind village of Tarn Taran District. A group of Sikh youths put up a photograph of Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale at this time. (Retd) Colonel Harsimran Singh, President of the Gurdwara management committee, objected to this. Harsimran Singh asked these Sikh youths to remove the pictures of Bhindranwale which was unacceptable to the Sikh youths. Singh and these youths got into a fight over the issue. Singh himself removed the picture of Bhindranwale. Subsequently, as Harsimran Singh was returning from the Gurdwara, these Sikh youths attacked and damaged his four-wheeler. This time, the youths also clashed with the Police, who were protecting Singh, resulting in injuries to a Police Inspector and several others. The Police have taken Singh to a safe place. The video of this incident is circulating on social media.
This is what led to the brutal attack on Retd Colonel HariSimran Singh.
