Incident from a Government school in Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) !
Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) – Ratalal Sarovar, a Government primary school headmaster was suspended for discouraging students from having faith in Hindu Deities and encouraging them to embrace Buddhism. The headmaster made objectionable and disrespectful remarks on Hindu Deities, leading to his immediate suspension and subsequent arrest by the Police. He was administering the students a pledge that they would not believe in or worship the Hindu Deities. After his video was circulated on social media, it came to the notice of the District Education Officer, who suspended headmaster Sarovar. When the Hindu organisations complained to the Police, the Police registered a case against the Sarovar and arrested him. Hindu organisations had protested by burning Sarovar’s effigy.
In the video that was circulated, the headmaster is administering the pledge to the students as, “I will not consider Brahma, Vishnu as Deities and will not worship them. I will not believe in any Hindu Deity.’
Editorial Perspective
Those who insult the Hindu Deities will be deterred only after passing the law that enables punishing them with a death penalty. Hindus must pressure the Government to make such a law. |
