Pakistan should not blame others for its own misdeeds : India rebukes

Pakistan accuses India of killing terrorists in its country

New Delhi – India has hit back after Pakistan held India responsible for the killings of terrorists in its country. Pakistan has claimed that there is concrete evidence of Indian involvement in the killing of one of the terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba each in Sialkot and Rawalakot last year. India has said that blaming others for one’s own misdeeds cannot be justified or be a solution.

1. Shahid Latif, a key associate of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar, and Riyaz Ahmad alias Abu Qasim, the mastermind of the 2016 terror attack on the Indian Air Force base in Pathankot, were shot dead in Pakistan last year.

2. Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Mohammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi has alleged that India was involved in these killings in Pakistan. Indian operatives used technology and safe havens on foreign soil to carry out the killings in Pakistan. They assisted criminals, terrorists and suspected civilians and provided them money and support to carry out these killings. Social media was used for this.

3. Referring to the killing of Shahid Latif, Qazi said that the investigation has revealed that Yogesh Kumar, an Indian agent living in a third country, hatched the conspiracy for these killings. Kumar chose Mohammed Umair, a third-country worker with ties to local criminals in Pakistan, to track down Latif and kill him; however, this plan did not work out.

Pakistan is reaping what it sowed : India

Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs of India

Indian External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that this is an attempt by Pakistan to spread false and hateful anti-India propaganda. The world knows, Pakistan has long been a hotbed of terrorism, organised crime and illegal activities across the border. India and many other countries have openly warned Pakistan that its policy of terrorism and violence will destroy it. Pakistan is reaping what it sowed. Holding others accountable for its own misdeeds is neither justifiable nor can it be a solution.

Editorial Perspectives

  • Instead of taking strict action against Jihadi and Khalistani terrorists operating from their soil, countries like Pakistan, Canada and the US holding India responsible for the killings of some of these terrorists is nothing but bigotry !
  • India should make efforts at international level for the world to declare Pakistan a ‘terrorist country’!
