Nehru’s painting replaced with Dr BR Ambedkar’s painting in the Legislative Assembly, Madhya Pradesh

The Congress criticises the BJP

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) – During the first assembly session of the new BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh, an oil painting of Jawaharlal Nehru was removed from the hall and a painting of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar was installed instead. There were 2 oil paintings, one of Nehru and another one of MK Gandhi behind the seat of the speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, of which, Nehru’s was replaced. The Congress however has criticised the BJP Government over this move.

Congress spokesperson Abbas Hafeez said that the BJP is doing this only because they want to erase the history of the country. He further said that this shows the mentality of the BJP. He has further warned that they will themselves replace the painting of Nehru if the BJP does not.
